Jhang: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Department conducted a raid at the Jhang cattle market after receiving complaints of overcharging beyond the government-notified rates. Officials stated that the approved fee was Rs 300 for small animals and Rs 500 for large animals; however, the contractor was allegedly charging between Rs 3,000 and Rs 10,000 per animal. Upon verification, the complaints were found to be valid, leading to the registration of a case against the contractor and associates. The main contractor fled the scene, while several staff members were arrested. Authorities recovered over Rs 4.2m from the site and formed special teams to arrest the absconding individuals involved in the case.
