WASA Lahore activates rain response at underpasses and emergency camps

Lahore: WASA Lahore has activated its rain emergency response under the vision of the Punjab government, with MD WASA Ghufran Ahmad visiting key city points immediately after rainfall started. He inspected Mubeen Shaheed Underpass, Main Boulevard Gulberg, Kalma Chowk Underpass, Liberty Chowk, and the emergency relief camp to review drainage operations. Director Gulberg Usman Babar briefed him on rainwater disposal arrangements, while officials were directed to ensure complete sweeping of roads and underpasses, staff presence in uniform, and quick resolution of public complaints. Efficient drainage during rain can reduce traffic disruption, protect underpasses, support business movement, and improve urban safety. Can timely WASA action prevent water accumulation in Lahore?
