Traffic congestion worsens under Shaukat Khanum flyover amid WASA work

Lahore: Severe traffic congestion has been reported under the Shaukat Khanum flyover due to ongoing excavation work by WASA. The digging is being carried out to connect a sewerage line from Khayaban-e-Jinnah to Khayaban-e-Firdousi via the Southern Bypass. According to residents, the work has been ongoing for over 10 days, but the road has not been fully restored or reopened, causing long traffic queues, especially during peak hours. Citizens have expressed frustration over repeated road digging and delays in completion. Authorities have been urged to expedite the work, restore the road surface, and reopen the route to ease daily commuting difficulties.
