Sheikhupura: Heavy monsoon flooding inundated villages and residential areas in Muridke and Ferozewala along the Lahore-Sheikhupura corridor, forcing residents to leave their homes through volunteer-operated boats. Three siblings—Daniyal, Nauman and Burhan—drowned in accumulated rainwater near Pathan Colony after a breach in the Bher Drain allowed water to enter nearby houses and low-lying areas. Volunteers reported conducting evacuations across around a dozen villages, while one Muridke resident told AFP that no official rescue team had reached her area for four days. The Punjab government, however, said protective embankments, evacuations and relief arrangements were undertaken in Ferozewala, while PDMA claimed relief camps had been equipped. No verified assessment of total affected villages, crop losses or housing-society damage has yet been released.
