Shahid Imran Marth directs security oversight for Muharram processions

Sheikhupura: Deputy Commissioner Imran Marth, Assistant Commissioner Imran Ali Haral, Chief Officer Javaid Chohan, and District Councilor Sharyar Ahmad have directed all officers to ensure security meetings for Muharram majalis and processions from 1st to 10th Muharram. Officials across all five tehsils have been instructed to inspect procession routes daily, with special attention to 9th and 10th Muharram. Immediate measures include installing searchlights, repairing roads, and strategic road blockades. Officers’ leaves have been cancelled, and coordination with religious scholars, security forces, and Safe City control rooms is mandated. The directive emphasizes adherence to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s code of conduct and maintaining sectarian harmony to ensure safe and orderly observances across the district.
