Shehbaz orders PMU for early completion of Islamabad Expo Centre

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to establish a Project Management Unit (PMU) for the early completion of the New Islamabad Convention, Exhibition and Expo Centre (NICEEC). Government sources indicate that the PM gave instructions to expedite preparations so construction can begin soon and the project can be completed on schedule. The proposed expo centre will be located near the Bhara Kahu bypass in the Malpur area of Islamabad and is expected to be operational ahead of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference. Analysts suggest that timely completion will boost the city’s infrastructure, attract investors, and enhance Islamabad’s capacity to host large-scale international events.
