Rs. 2.4 Billion Requested for Data Darbar Expansion Project

The Auqaf Department has formally requested Rs. 2.4 billion to fund the expansion of Data Darbar in Lahore, citing the growing number of devotees visiting the shrine. According to sources, the Secretary Auqaf has submitted an official requisition to the provincial finance department for land compensation payments and the initiation of construction work. Authorities stated that dismantling activities on both sides of Bhatti Chowk have been accelerated to facilitate timely execution of the project. TEPA officials have assured that alternative routes and visitor facilities will be maintained during construction to avoid inconvenience. The finance department is expected to start the budget release process next week, after which formal construction activities will commence.
