Punjab to train government schoolteachers in AI, Google ID and Gemini tools

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to provide training in AI, Google ID, and Gemini tools to teachers working in government schools across the province. According to details, teachers from 1,249 schools will be selected for the first phase, and these trained teachers will later train other teachers in schools across Punjab. The training programme will run from July 15 to July 25, while the selected teachers will continue further training activities in schools until August 15. Officials say the purpose is to help teachers use modern digital tools and guide students through AI-based learning methods. Such education reforms can improve school quality, digital skills, public confidence, and long-term human capital. Can AI training modernize Punjab’s government schools?
