Lahore: The Punjab government has launched a tree plantation drive at Township Sahulat Bazar under the Sar Sabz Punjab campaign on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Director Operations Revenue Saddam Hussain attended the ceremony and formally started the plantation activity by planting saplings at the site. Officials said a total of 10,000 plants will be planted across Sahulat Bazars, while a monitoring policy and a dedicated app have also been introduced to track the condition of each tree through monthly photographs and regular care. The initiative aims to improve urban beauty, reduce environmental pollution, increase oxygen supply, and create a greener public environment. Can this plantation campaign improve Lahore’s urban climate and public spaces?
