Lahore: The Punjab School Education Department has decided to rationalize teachers working in 2,668 public schools outsourced under the Punjab Education Foundation. According to details, more than 5,000 teachers from surplus schools will be gradually declared surplus after agreements with private operators are finalized. Once the outsourcing agreements are completed, the department is expected to reopen the transfer round for these surplus teachers. Open merit teachers may also be given the opportunity to apply for transfers closer to their homes. Sources say the agreement process will continue until August 5, while the ban on transfers may be lifted again by August 10.
