Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the “Apni Chhat, Mehfooz Chhat” scheme to help eligible families repair weak homes or add more living space. Under the official loan categories, citizens can receive an interest-free loan of up to Rs500,000 for repairing and strengthening damaged roofs or adding a room, repayable over three years. A loan of up to Rs1 million is available for building an additional floor, with repayment spread over six years. Applications can be submitted through the official Apni Chhat Apna Ghar portal, while the programme helpline is 0800-09100. The official portal confirms the loan limits and repayment periods, but approval will depend on eligibility checks and document verification.
