Punjab to deploy 400 electric buses across all districts by May

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari has announced that 400 new electric buses will be deployed across all districts of the province by the end of May, significantly expanding the green transport network. Officials stated that 100 buses will be added by the end of April, followed by the remaining fleet in the next phase to ensure province-wide coverage. The initiative aims to provide affordable, eco-friendly transport while reducing fuel dependency and urban pollution. Authorities highlighted that ongoing transport reforms, including metro services and electric buses, are improving mobility and public convenience. The move is expected to enhance connectivity, reduce travel costs, and support sustainable urban development across Punjab.
