Rawalpindi: The Punjab Highway Department has accelerated plans to construct three underpasses on Peshawar Road, assigning National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) a strict two-day deadline to review and finalise the design. Officials stated that the project aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity in one of Rawalpindi’s busiest corridors. Authorities emphasized that quick design approval will help initiate construction without delay. Experts believe the underpasses will significantly ease daily commuting challenges, support commercial activity and modernize urban infrastructure in the area. The move reflects the government’s focus on fast-track development and efficient execution of key road projects.
