Punjab launches women empowerment bus stops in Lahore, 32 modern stations operational

Lahore: The Punjab government has activated 32 modern bus stops across Lahore under a women empowerment initiative aimed at improving public transport facilities and supporting financial independence for women. Officials stated that these state-of-the-art bus stops are equipped with CCTV cameras, free Wi-Fi, comfortable seating and other modern amenities for commuters. The project has been implemented in phases, with 11 stops completed in December, 10 in February and another 10 in the latest phase. Under the initiative, bus stops are being handed over to women, enabling them to generate income through advertisements and related activities. Authorities said the project, developed in collaboration with Akhuwat Foundation, will enhance urban infrastructure and create new economic opportunities.
