Punjab Reviews Progress of Major Agriculture Support Programs

LAHORE: An important meeting chaired by Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani reviewed the progress of agriculture development initiatives launched under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The minister said recovery under Kissan Card Phase-II has crossed 98 percent and the 100 percent target will be achieved by February 15, 2026. He noted that interest-free loans worth Rs100 billion have been disbursed, benefiting over 731,000 farmers. The meeting also discussed expansion of Kissan Card facilitation centers across all districts, progress of the High-Tech Farm Mechanization Financing Program, and strong response to the Green Tractors Program Phase-III, with application deadlines extended to January 25. Updates were also shared on laser land levelers, mobile pest clinics, and soil and water testing labs.
