Lahore: Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Disaster Management and Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafiq chaired a high-level online meeting to review Punjab’s preparedness for the ongoing monsoon season. The meeting assessed the latest flood situation, urban flooding risks, possible flash floods in hill torrents (Rod Kohis), and the anticipated water levels in the Indus and Chenab rivers. Officials also reviewed emergency response plans, coordination among relevant departments, rescue preparedness, and preventive measures to minimize the impact of potential flooding. The government emphasized maintaining readiness to ensure a swift response in vulnerable areas throughout the monsoon period.
