Federal Government Freezes Relief Allowances for Grades 1–22

Islamabad: The Ministry of Finance has clarified that the Ad-Hoc Relief Allowances introduced in 2023 and 2024 for federal government employees in BPS-1 to BPS-22 will continue, but their payable amounts will remain frozen. The 2023 allowance will stay fixed at its June 30, 2023 level, with employees in BPS-1 to 16 receiving 35 percent and those in BPS-17 to 22 receiving 30 percent. The 2024 allowance will remain frozen at its June 30, 2026 level, with rates of 25 percent for BPS-1 to 16 and 20 percent for BPS-17 to 22. New employees appointed from July 1, 2026 will receive these allowances based on the minimum relevant Basic Pay Scale-2022, after which the amounts will also remain fixed.
