Punjab Launches Underground Parking and Beautification Project at Neela Gumbad

LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched a major development project in the historic Neela Gumbad area to address traffic congestion and improve civic facilities. The project includes construction of a three-level underground modern parking plaza with capacity for hundreds of vehicles, aimed at easing traffic pressure in Neela Gumbad and surrounding commercial zones. Alongside the parking facility, comprehensive beautification and restoration work is also underway to enhance the area while preserving its historical character. The parking plaza will feature modern security systems, elevators, emergency exits, and advanced lighting. Traders and residents welcomed the initiative, saying it will boost business activity and provide much-needed convenience. Officials said the project reflects Punjab’s commitment to urban development and heritage preservation.
