Lahore: The Punjab government has launched the Violation Detection System (VDS), a satellite-based digital tool to monitor and detect illegal construction activities across the province. Developed by PMU-LG&CDD in collaboration with PITB and Bakhbar Kisan, the system uses Geo-AI to identify new developments on parcels of two acres or more. It has been successfully piloted in Sahiwal and Sialkot divisions and will soon be rolled out province-wide. Minister Zeeshan Rafique described it as a historic milestone toward digital governance and evidence-based planning.
