The Government of Punjab has launched an Electric Bus Service in Bahawalpur, marking another major step toward modern and eco-friendly public transport. The service was inaugurated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and is being implemented by the Punjab Transport Company. Branded as “Electro,” the fully electric buses will operate at a flat fare of Rs20, while students and senior citizens will be able to travel free of cost. Initially covering key routes in the city, the service is expected to expand based on public demand. The air-conditioned buses are equipped with modern tracking systems and designed to reduce emissions, supporting Punjab’s clean and green transport vision.
