Lahore: Punjab plans to establish 150 permanent Sahulat Bazaars at tehsil level before Ramazan, replacing the practice of setting up temporary relief markets. The decision was taken at the sixth meeting of the Punjab Sahulat Bazaars Authority’s Board of Directors, chaired by Muhammad Afzal Khokhar. The plan calls for permanent markets offering essential commodities throughout the year, while every tehsil is also expected to receive a Sahulat In-The-Go facility before Ramazan. Officials said the aim is to improve access to essential goods and provide a more organised market system for consumers. Earlier this year, Punjab reported 49 permanent Sahulat Bazaars operating across the province, while work on further markets was already under way. The new 150-market target represents a major expansion of the network.
