Islamabad: Pakistan’s two main civil-aviation bodies are reportedly preparing to shift their headquarters from Karachi to Islamabad International Airport. ARY News reported on August 22 that the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has been directed to complete its move by November 2026, while the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is expected to follow by December. A seven-member joint committee headed by PAA Deputy Director General Sadiq Rehman has reportedly been formed to oversee the relocation and identify space for temporary headquarters at Islamabad Airport. Regional offices across Pakistan are expected to continue functioning, meaning the reported decision concerns the central administrative headquarters rather than nationwide operations. The two organisations are legally separate authorities established under distinct federal laws passed in 2023.
