Punjab Completes Digital Master Plans for 40 Districts

Punjab’s Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq has termed the establishment of the Punjab Special Spatial Planning Authority (PSPA) a major step toward organized and modern urban planning. Chairing a meeting at the Civil Secretariat, he announced that digital master planning for 40 districts across Punjab has been successfully completed.The minister directed officials to enhance the capacity of field formations through structured training programs, including partnerships with leading universities and the Local Government Academy. He expressed satisfaction over the use of digital monitoring systems to support local governments and praised the Project Management Unit for completing district and tehsil-level master plans.It was decided that master plans will be displayed at Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, and Municipal Committee offices, with QR-code boards later installed along major roads. PSPA services have been integrated with the Punjab e-Biz Portal, making housing plan approvals and commercial conversions fully online. The initiative ensures protection of green and agricultural zones, promoting sustainable urban development.
