Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the crucial role of rural communities in Pakistan’s agricultural productivity and national development on World Rural Development Day. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empower rural populations through education, skills, healthcare, clean water, modern agriculture, and sustainable livelihoods. Key initiatives include the “Suthra Punjab” and “Apna Khait, Apna Rozgar” schemes, the “Misaali Gaon Project” benefiting over 2,400 villages with clean water, parks, and playgrounds, and the construction and repair of over 3,300 km of rural roads. Electric buses are now reaching rural areas for the first time, ensuring connectivity. These measures aim to strengthen rural economies, promote food security, and provide equitable development opportunities across Punjab.
