Lahore: The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has started releasing long-pending royalty payments to publishers after delays led several publishing houses to refuse work on new textbooks. According to officials, royalty dues dating back to 2022 had remained unpaid, affecting the preparation of revised textbooks, including those for Grade Five. Following the issue, PECTA Chief Executive Waqas Khan directed that payments be made in phases to resolve publishers’ concerns and ensure the timely production of new educational material. The move is expected to help restore the textbook publication process ahead of the upcoming academic cycle.
