Punjab Approves Rs11 Billion Development Schemes in PDWP Meeting

The Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved development schemes worth Rs11 billion during the 59th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for the fiscal year 2025–26. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf at the Civil Secretariat Lahore.
Major approvals include Rs2.5 billion for the rehabilitation of old blocks at the Punjab Institute of Mental Health, Rs1 billion for the purchase of a Linear Accelerator for Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Rs1.5 billion for enhancing water distribution capacity for Defence ditches, and Rs6 billion for canal lining projects aimed at improving conveyance and operational efficiency.
The PDWP also approved position papers for capacity enhancement of the Higher Education Department Secretariat, provision of an ERP system for colleges, and incentive allowance for two Local Government employees. Senior officials, including Secretary P&D Board Rafaqat Ali, board members, and representatives of concerned departments attended the meeting.
