Raja Park in Lahore Falls into Disrepair

A public park located in Lahore’s Sadar Gol Chakkar Raja Park area has fallen into severe neglect, depriving local residents—especially children—of recreational facilities. Old swings and slides inside the park are broken and rusted, making them unsafe for use and forcing families to stop visiting the area. Residents say the park was once the only affordable source of recreation in the neighborhood, but lack of maintenance has rendered it unusable. Benches for elderly visitors are missing, while garbage piles and damaged entry gates reflect administrative neglect. Despite repeated complaints to concerned departments and elected representatives, no action has been taken. Locals have urged the Punjab government to conduct an immediate survey, restore facilities, and revive greenery to make the park usable again.
