Punjab accelerates WASA projects, orders expansion of workforce and machinery

Lahore: A high-level meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yaseen reviewed the progress of WASA development projects under the Punjab Development Plan. Officials stated that to ensure timely completion, it has been decided to increase workforce and machinery across districts. During the briefing, Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and DG WASA Tayyab Fareed highlighted that in the initial phase, WASA complexes will be constructed in 15 cities. The minister also directed all WASA Managing Directors to immediately start the desilting campaign, considering emergency conditions. Authorities emphasized meeting deadlines and improving drainage infrastructure to manage upcoming weather challenges effectively.
