Poor Condition of Misri Shah Road Causes Severe Hardship in Lahore

Residents and traders near Lahore Railway Station are facing serious difficulties due to the deteriorated condition of Misri Shah Road, which has remained damaged for nearly three years. Deep potholes and broken surfaces have made movement unsafe for pedestrians, motorcyclists, rickshaws, and vehicles, increasing the risk of accidents and vehicle damage. Locals report constant dust in dry weather, while rainwater accumulates in potholes during monsoon, worsening traffic congestion. The situation is especially concerning as hundreds of passengers use the nearby railway station daily. Business owners say poor road conditions have driven customers away, making it difficult to pay shop rents and sustain livelihoods. Despite repeated complaints to authorities, no practical steps have been taken. Citizens have urged the Punjab government to immediately repair the road.
