Pakistan secures strategic border area near Zhob after clashes

Pakistan: Security forces have taken full control of approximately 32 square kilometres of territory in the Ghudwana enclave near the Zhob sector along the Afghanistan border. Officials stated that the area was secured following clashes with Afghan Taliban-linked fighters and has now been fenced to establish permanent control. Authorities said the move aims to prevent cross-border militant movement and strengthen national security. The development comes amid ongoing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan over border incidents and security concerns. While Islamabad maintains that the step is necessary for protecting its borders, Afghan authorities have denied any loss of territory. Analysts believe the situation could further impact regional stability and security dynamics in the border region.
