Pakistan relaunches Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana programme to build 500,000 affordable homes

Pakistan: The federal government has relaunched the Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana housing programme with enhanced funding and expanded eligibility criteria. The initiative aims to facilitate the construction of up to 500,000 affordable homes for low- and middle-income families across the country. Authorities plan to simplify loan approval procedures and encourage banks to actively finance housing projects. Officials believe the programme will stimulate growth in the real estate and construction sectors while helping thousands of families achieve home ownership. The scheme is also expected to boost economic activity by increasing demand for building materials and supporting employment in related industries.
