Orange Line Sees Record Passenger Surge in Lahore During Basant

LAHORE : A historic increase in passenger numbers was recorded on the Orange Line Metro Train during Basant celebrations after the Punjab government announced three days of free travel. According to officials, Anarkali Station witnessed a massive rush, with over 50,000 additional passengers recorded in a single day as citizens from different parts of Lahore and other cities used the metro to celebrate the festival. Authorities expect further increase on the final day of Basant due to heavy movement across the city. Passengers praised the free travel initiative, stating it reduced travel costs and significantly eased traffic congestion during the festive period.
