Islamabad: Banks have approved more than Rs220.68 billion in housing loans under the Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar Program – Ghar Ho To Apna, while around Rs34.27 billion had actually been disbursed up to July 2026. This means roughly 15.5 per cent of the approved financing had reached borrowers by that point. The figures were reviewed at the second meeting of the Access to Finance Steering Committee chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb. The government is also working on digitising land and property records, improving title-document verification and strengthening mortgage-based lending mechanisms. Officials said engagement with developers, banks and regulators is continuing to make registered and verifiable properties easier to finance.
