NEPRA Approves Policy to Replace Faulty Solar Green Meters

LAHORE: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a new policy for replacing meters of consumers shifted to solar systems across all power distribution companies, including LESCO. Under the policy, faulty or burnt green meters will be replaced within two months, while consumers will be charged average export units during this period. NEPRA has also approved relief based on last year’s export units. Damaged meters will be removed and sent to laboratories for inspection, and further unit adjustments will be made in light of lab reports. Power companies have been directed to ensure timely replacement of bi-directional green meters.
