Kohistan: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman has approved a Rs409.6 million plea bargain request submitted by accused Hareeq Ahmad in the Kohistan mega financial scandal, according to NAB sources cited by The News. Ahmad reportedly worked as an operations manager at a private bank in Dasu, Kohistan, and investigators allege that transactions exceeding Rs400 million linked to the case passed through an account associated with him. The approved request is now expected to be submitted before the relevant accountability court for formal consideration. NAB sources further claimed that more than 40 suspects have been arrested in the wider investigation and that around Rs30 billion has so far been recovered from an alleged financial scandal estimated at more than Rs45 billion.
