NADRA Rolls Out ATM-Style Kiosks to Cut CNIC Service Queues

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out self-service kiosks at registration centres to make routine identity services faster and reduce queues. The ATM-style machines allow citizens to verify their identity, select eligible services through a touchscreen and complete selected CNIC and Family Registration Certificate processes with less staff assistance. NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said around 65 to 70 per cent of citizens could potentially complete their required services through these automated facilities, easing pressure on registration counters. The initiative follows NADRA’s earlier plans to expand automated identity services beyond conventional counters as part of its wider digital service-delivery programme. NADRA’s official platform also confirms that CNIC and FRC remain among its core citizen identity services.
