MD WASA reviews Chouburji Drain Project progress

Lahore: MD WASA Lahore, Ghufran Ahmed, visited the Chouburji Drain Project to assess the progress of ongoing development works under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision. Director WASA Usman Babar briefed him on completed sections from Haji Camp to Chouburji and Shamnagar to the Ravi River, with rapid progress on the Chouburji–Shamnagar section. The project aims to significantly enhance drainage and sewerage systems in central Lahore, reducing flooding and improving sanitation. MD WASA emphasized timely completion of the Chouburji Chowk section before Muharram-ul-Haram, ensuring construction causes minimal public inconvenience while maintaining high-quality standards. Enhanced infrastructure is expected to benefit residents, urban development, and public health in Lahore.
