Karachi: The federal government has announced progress on the proposed M-10 motorway project, which aims to establish a direct road connection between Karachi and Hyderabad. According to available details, the project’s feasibility study has been completed and the motorway has been divided into five sections of around 50 kilometres each to facilitate financing. Three sections have reportedly secured investment through different financing arrangements, including support from the Islamic Development Bank, while work is underway to attract investment for the remaining sections. The project, estimated to cost more than $400 million, is planned for completion by 2028 and is expected to improve connectivity, support economic activities and strengthen the transport network between Karachi and Hyderabad.
