Karachi: Development work across Karachi’s major industrial zones is moving ahead under a Rs9.282 billion infrastructure package approved by the Sindh government. The official Chief Minister Sindh record says the funding is for urgent rehabilitation of roads and allied infrastructure across the city’s industrial estates. More recently, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said funds had been transferred to industrial-zone accounts and targeted completion of the works by December 31, 2026. Industrial associations are being given a direct role in execution, with projects covering roads, drainage, sewerage and other municipal infrastructure. Work is already under way in several areas; in Federal B Industrial Area alone, the mayor launched schemes worth Rs860 million on August 22.
