LDA Auctions 28 Commercial Plots in Jinnah Market, Raises Rs 51.65 Crore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has successfully concluded Phase-II of the public auction of commercial shops in Jinnah Market and Child Welfare Centre Township, generating a record revenue of Rs 51.65 crore.Under the special initiatives of DG LDA Tahir Farooq, plots that remained encroached for over 30 years were transformed into a planned commercial market. A total of 28 commercial plots were auctioned at the Expo Centre Johar Town, with strong investor participation.Vice Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmed and DG LDA personally supervised the auction process.LDA officials confirmed that possession has already been handed over to successful bidders from previous auctions. The authority has also announced complete waiver of map fees and exemption from arcade requirements for Jinnah Market auction winners, further encouraging investment.Senior LDA officials and members of the auction committee monitored the proceedings.
