Lahore Ring Road Traffic Fines Increased Sharply Penalties Reach Rs10,000

Lahore: The Punjab Ring Road Authority has increased traffic fines for several violations on Lahore Ring Road, with penalties reaching Rs10,000 under the revised schedule. The changes cover driving without a licence, speeding, dangerous overtaking, lane violations and other road safety offences.

According to reports published on October 25 and 26, 2026, the fine for driving without a valid licence has increased tenfold, from Rs500 to Rs5,000. Underage driving now carries a Rs10,000 penalty, while speeding and illegal overtaking attract fines of Rs5,000 for vehicles up to 2,000cc and Rs10,000 for vehicles above 2,000cc.

Other revised penalties include Rs7,000 for overloading, Rs5,000 for motorcycles entering Ring Road, Rs3,000 for using a mobile phone while driving and Rs3,000 for failing to wear a seatbelt. Illegal parking carries a Rs2,000 penalty, while pedestrians crossing Ring Road in violation of the rules may face a Rs1,000 fine.

The revised fines are part of efforts to strengthen road safety and reduce dangerous driving practices. Motorists have been advised to carry a valid licence, follow speed limits, observe lane discipline and comply with Ring Road restrictions.

These reported penalties relate specifically to Lahore Ring Road and should not automatically be treated as the fine schedule for every road across Punjab.
