Lahore: The Punjab government says beautification and passenger-facility improvements are continuing at Lahore Railway Station, with the station’s fountain being renovated and parking arrangements improved under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The broader upgrade of Lahore Railway Station is independently supported by official and APP reporting. In July 2026, Pakistan Railways confirmed that comprehensive master plans had been finalized for the restoration, conservation and modernization of the historic station, with support from the Punjab government. The plan includes heritage-sensitive repair work, improved passenger amenities, better lighting, upgraded public areas and other facilities while preserving the station’s historic character.
Earlier project reporting also showed that a modern parking area and adjoining public-space improvements were part of the wider station upgrade. Reports said the parking facility was planned to accommodate around 250 to 300 vehicles, aimed at easing long-standing congestion and passenger access problems around the station.
However, the latest claim that the parking issue has been resolved should be treated as the issuing side’s latest status update rather than a fully independently verified final outcome.
