Lahore environment team raids illegal hospital waste recycling unit in Misri Shah

Lahore: The Environment Department carried out an operation on Bamba Road in Misri Shah against an illegal unit allegedly recycling hospital waste to produce plastic and other materials. The action was led by DG Environment Musa Raza after officials received information about the collection and reuse of hospital waste at the site. According to the department, the recovered waste will be properly disposed of, and the unit will be sealed after completing legal proceedings. Officials said similar locations have also been identified in other parts of Lahore, and further operations will continue. Illegal medical waste recycling poses serious risks to public health, environment, nearby businesses, and urban safety. Will stricter enforcement stop hazardous recycling in Lahore?
