Lahore airport terminal expansion to complete by September 2026

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced on Sunday that several major aviation infrastructure and passenger facility upgrades are advancing nationwide. The expansion of Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport terminal is on track for completion by September 2026, enhancing capacity and improving service quality.
Similarly, the runway upgrade at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport is expected to be completed by January 2026, improving operational efficiency and safety.PAA also confirmed that RNP-AR flight procedures—advanced navigation technology designed to reduce weather-related disruptions—will be implemented at Skardu, Gilgit, and Chitral airports by June 2026.Officials say the upgrades will significantly reduce delays and cancellations, strengthen connectivity to northern regions, and improve the overall passenger experience.
