Lahore Administration Intensifies Chicken Shop Inspections Over Price Violations

Lahore: The Lahore district administration has intensified inspections of chicken shops across the city to ensure compliance with the notified price of Rs439 per kilogram. According to the provided information, 3,149 inspections were conducted during the past 24 hours in areas including Harbanspura, Ichhra, Nishtar, Iqbal Town and Model Town. A total of 1,019 actions were taken over overcharging, while 148 actions were taken against shops for failing to display the official rate list. Authorities imposed fines totalling Rs250,000 on 124 violators for overcharging and under-weighing, while three cases were registered. Assistant commissioners, Price Control Magistrates and PERA teams are continuing field inspections. The deputy commissioner directed officials to ensure price control and take action against violations without discrimination.
