KP Moves to Tighten Action Against Illegal Housing Societies

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: The provincial government is taking measures to strengthen action against illegal housing societies and unplanned construction across the province. According to the provided information, work is underway on amendments aimed at making legislation against illegal construction and housing schemes stricter, while the mechanism for enforcement is also being improved. A total of 708 housing schemes have reportedly been mapped. The government is also working to improve coordination with the FIA and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency to address cyber and online fraud related to housing schemes. Measures are also being developed to address citizens’ issues concerning private housing society files and establish a “one-window operation” under the Land Use and Building Control Authority. The initiative is intended to make approval and other legal processes easier and more transparent. Official KP rules already require action against private housing schemes launched without prior sanction.
