Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab Advances Rs1bn Nishtar Road Flyover Plan

Karachi: Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation to advance a proposed flyover at the Nishtar Road–Garden Chowrangi intersection, with an estimated cost of Rs1 billion. The project was reviewed during a KMC Engineering Department meeting at the municipal headquarters. The proposed structure is planned to connect the Lyari Expressway with Garden Road and Nishtar Road, improving access toward Saddar, the Old City and surrounding commercial areas. Wahab directed officials to complete technical and administrative requirements and speed up the tendering process so construction can begin after the contract is awarded. KMC Municipal Commissioner Abrar Jaffer said the project carries a one-year completion target, although the final schedule will depend on the successful contract award.
