The sewerage line replacement project in Johar Town, Lahore, stretching from Shaukat Khanum Flyover to Shauq Chowk, has faced significant delays, causing serious inconvenience to residents. Sources said poor planning by project authorities and contractors has resulted in deep excavations along building lines, particularly from Allah Hoo Roundabout to Shauq Chowk, raising safety concerns for nearby structures and pedestrians.According to tender documents, the project was scheduled for completion within ten months, with a deadline of December 2025. However, officials of Water and Sanitation Agency Lahore stated that the project is unlikely to be completed this month. If the current pace continues, completion could take an additional three to four months, worsening traffic congestion and living conditions. Residents have urged authorities to expedite work and ensure proper safety measures.
