Lahore: On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Japan International Cooperation Agency President Dr. Akihiko Tanaka was welcomed at Lahore Airport upon his arrival in Punjab. The visit reflects the importance of Punjab’s development partnership with JICA, which supports cooperation in areas such as public infrastructure, education, healthcare, transport, water management, technical expertise, and institutional capacity building. The arrival of JICA’s president is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions on ongoing initiatives and future development cooperation between Punjab and Japan. Stronger engagement with international development partners can support technology transfer, sustainable projects, and improved public services across the province.
