Jeddah: Construction of Jeddah Tower is moving forward rapidly after restarting in January 2025. The latest independently confirmed specialist update from the Council on Vertical Urbanism says the tower had reached 454 metres and the 113th floor as of August 31, 2026.
The skyscraper is designed to rise above 1,000 metres, which would make it taller than Dubai’s 828-metre Burj Khalifa and, if completed as planned, the world’s tallest building. The National reports a planned total of around 167 floors and says the project remains on track for completion in 2028.
Construction formally restarted on January 20, 2025, with Saudi Binladin Group carrying out the remaining works. MEED reported that the contractor was awarded an estimated SR8 billion contract to complete the tower. The project is being developed by Jeddah Economic Company.
Reports from Saudi media have cited August 2028 as the targeted completion date. However, the newer claim supplied for this story that the tower has already reached 116 floors and about 470 metres could not yet be independently confirmed from a high-authority project or tall-building source. The latest specialist confirmation I found remains 113 floors and 454 metres as of August 31.
